Hey Pete, yes ive just checked the cap but the plastic is still there, pushed by a weak spring, perhaps a stronger spring would fix it? I guess my compression is kinda messed up so its pushing more air and oil than it usually should?  \

Yes it looks like you've got a little bit of blow back past the piston rings thats pressurizing the sump, you could make your own oil catch container just cut two holes into a plastic jar one for the breather pipe and the other as a breather, if you put something like cotton wool into the bottom this will absorb the oil, you should be able to mount it somewhere on the back panel then you won't get into trouble for leaking oil on the drive don't forget to empty it tho.

even if i had the repair kit, and with the manual, there's no vay id fix it, and the service people here cost A LOT...  \ it only leaves me with 1 option - Italy, im going there on Monday, they have quite a few junkyards, with many many fiats... hope there's a 126 in there some where

There are quite a lot of 126s here as well, so finding a complete used gearbox wouldn't be that hard. The last i saw, it cost something like 15000 HUF (approx. 57EUR, 50 GBP, 407 HRK). Sure, it's not that cheap, but try and get a repair manual, and why not give it a go?

im not going in my 126 so its not really an adventre... my dads golf is sooo booring, and trieste isnt really that far, about hour and a half driving. finding a used box here used to be really easy, i paid my last one about 30€, which is really cheap, im willing to give 100€ now, but cant find a single one...  :'(

Well ive been quite busy today, working on my BIS. Since the box is dead i took it out. As the engine was out i decided to clean all the yuck that has accumulated over the years and got this... 


then i tried to make one good box out of two broken ones (they had different problems) but after a few lagers i ended up with this... 



then i continued work on my alloys, and now theyre ready for their white paint...



Well so far so good, witing for my local ad papers to come out and see if someone will call offering a box, if not, ill buy a hole damn spare car...

My current short term plans are: -get the carb sorted
                                            -tyres for  the alloys
                                            -electrical windows
                                            -seat heater/ massager 
                                            -subwoofer wit amp. 
                                            -xenon lights
