By next week all of this will be fitted to the car as it needs to be rolling again ready for the paint and body guy who's living at my house for the weekend to get the prep finished- getting exciting!

Suspension back on the car today and back back on its wheels for the first time In ages heres a rear disc brake shot-

Great work stu! love the rear disc set up - I've had to abandon my conversion sadly as my adaptor plates only take the hard to find punto HGT calipers so will stick with the tried and tested drum set up but with larger rear wheel cylinders. How did you attach the handbrake cable?

Gadge I haven't got that far yet, the x19 handbrake mech sits in a similar place to the 126 one so I'm hoping that it will line up with minimal modification, I'll keep you posted

Yesterday I etch primed the under bonnet area, treated it to some hard wearing bed liner paint then a first coat of 2k top coat, Ill give it a couple more to bring the colour up (its vey patchy in the front panel)-


next week Ill do the same to the floor inside the prime and paint the whole interior then its time to paint the out side.

Thanks Pete every time some one comments it gives the the motivation to do a little more today I formed the hard lines for the brake resivour need to get some rubber hose for the ends and I'm thinking about painting them Matt black buy I'm happy otherwise-

Thank you I think they will look better when they are black, I also chopped the starter switch panel into the centre console panel looking good-

I cant wait get the inside painted!

Painted up the centre console and started test fitting all the boys that bolt to it with button head Allen bolts, fabricated the fuel tank mount and welded it in and painted more of the interior.. Just keep plodding along!

a little more but mainly invisible work today first the F********* centre brake pipe (avoid at all costs if yours is servicable)
then the choke and shortened gearshift went in (with a crowbar)-so apart from the wiring for the switches and starter I dont have to take all this stuff off again, need my stainless gearknob to top it off though.




im going to finish the interior paint at the start of next week when im off work then get the engine back in and get all the wiring in and see if i can get it all started- once ive got a running driving car its off to a bodyshop (when i find someone) as my body guy has let me down too many times for me to even talk about it.

onwards and upwards!
