interior panels and engine fired!

Today these now parts arrived from piotross for my supercharged bis engine I’m gonna build next year- my aim is to build it all from brand new parts throughout- these will will be off to the powder coater prior to build so gonna be awesome!

I'm trying to get into the garage every day when I'm not on shift and get some stuff done now until the car is finished (its only been off the road 9 years!) this week-

Plumbed up the brakes and master cylinder reservoir
Nearly finished the fuel plumbing (awaiting one an6 to 15mm fitting)
Replaced the track rod ends (because they were too long and I lost the nuts so it was easier to replace them as nothing I had fitted them)
Attempted to get the engine to fire but its refusing (no spark) so I replaced the coil) which didn't work so I'm waiting on some new points now!

Next week-
wire up the handbrake warning light and other lights for the dash
fill and bleed the brakes
hopefully fire the engine
fit new drive shaft gaiters on the gear
and other stuff..

no pictures but more updates soon- its about time he left the garage!

]So great news! after nine years the engine was fired up for the first time in a long time, so to celebrate I decided to fabricates some alloy finishing panels to complete the interior heres some pics!
first it necessitated getting this bad boy out-



I made some cardboard templates-



first was a cover panel for the electrics and brake filler-




then I made a filler panel for the boot lid-



next i will make a under dash panel then they will all be bead rolled for strength and powdercoated semi gloss black.

this week I want to get the brakes bled and finish plumbing the fuel system, and then get the driveshaft seals fixed.

Fuel system parts came today so it’s all plumbed up!

That's looking great, should be on the road soon then. Finally got mine back on the road last week, still on standard front suspension. Have purchased front coilovers from Gaz, I just need to sort out the wishbones.

Appreciate you saying that!- every time i get closer I find a dozen other things I'm not happy with but i figure if I just keep pushing at some point ill get a fully working car- quite honestly I'd rather skip all the fancy stuff and just have a working 126 right now- but I'm sure it will be worth it in the end!!!

this week I replaced the front braided hoses as the old ones were crap! -

filled the system-


I tried to bleed the brakes and the front circuit wouldnt play ball, i removed master cylinder and fiddled with it and managed to getting pumping fluid so I put it back on the car and in the process buggered one of the threads for the pipes so now have to wait for a new master cylinder to arrive  more to come soon!

I always use the easy bleed system.
Works a treat on these little cars.
