Standard crank tolerances?

Hi guys, long time no see!

I was just wondering what sort of rpm / bhp the standard aircooled crankshaft can tolerate?

If I wanted to do the Panda head / carb upgrade can I keep it standard?

well i don't know about bhp but the best person to ask is smallcox(steve) because he has broken one but i know he told me that 60bhp would be ok.

as for rpm, i have had mine at between 9000-10,000 rpm severall times and it's still kicking if you know what i mean.

 Smallcox actually broke two I think.

 If you don`t go crazy on the mods the standard crank will be fine. There are some who say the bis one is stronger. Rusty`s Uncle is using one of them in his AC.

i managed that racing around on the dual carageway to and from work entering the roundabouts at about 40-45 mph dropping down into 2nd gear. i only found out it was that high rpms when i fitted a revcounter (tachometer) and after i realised that i only went to about 7000 rpm which still screems a bit but its propably safer.
