Ok with much head scratching and threats of putting a match to it the 126 is running again so tickets booked.
As the 126 is now no longer being used as daily driver, I may be able to not break it before the event :-X

i have the problem that my mot is due just prior to retro rides so do i buy tickets and the car fails and i end up attending in "something different" or do i wait until the test and hope its okay and passes and then attend without buying the tickets in advance and pay on the gate? its so bloody difficult!

Just come in what ever Mick [-/ It is social event and would be good if you can make it :) plus if you pre-book we can all be together on the camp site as they are limiting numbers this year.

Pete still to look at how I will get there, may have to have a few stop overs, also still to decide on which car to bring the 500 Gamine or the 126 depends on how much work I will be able to get done in time.  Looking forward meeting you all.

Right, I'm sorely tempted but again not sure if my 126 would physically make it!  Am willing to give a go and if i break down then i break down...

Anyone bringing wives/girlfriends?  Don't want to be the only girl!

Ralph - we could go in a little Fiat convoy from Scotland!!

Had an email from the organisers and there are less than 100 weekend tickets left, If you want to camp at Prescott Hill and be with us on the campsite it would be a good idea to book your places now! or you may have to find another campsite nearby, Show Day tickets are not a problem you can pay on the Day.

Mhairi, Don't worry you will be well looked after.

I'll be driving down Friday from Leeds, my route will be M1 south, Sheffield, Derby, Leicester, M69, Coventry, Stratford-on-Avon, Down Fosse Way then cut across to Prescott hill.

If anyone wants to join me your more than Welcome :)

You guys got me tempted, so I just booked a weekend ticket. I`m not sure if I`ll have a running 126, but we`ll definitely come in some sort of old Fiat.

Mhairi

(Ralph - we could go in a little Fiat convoy from Scotland!!)

Good idea strength in numbers, I have still to confirm the route.  We could have a trial run to the ALFA day just outside St Andrews, it is usually at the end of April or May I will check and post the details.

Hi Ralph

Great idea re trial run to Alpha day - would be bang up for that - let me know when it is.  Am heading up to my dads in Stonehaven in April and am going to take the Fiat and see how it (and I) do on longer journey.

Convoy from Scotland would be great - can you imagine the looks plus I'm assuming you've got more mechanically know how than me so that also works!

Might do the Stonehaven/St Andrews journey first and then buy Retro Rides ticket...

Thanks for all the words of support and hopefully see you all there !

Mhairi,

The Scotish Alfa Day will be held on the 29th May at Craigtoun Park, St Andrews.
See link http://alfascot.com/sicd.htm if anyone else would like to come that would be great.  All makes of Italian cars turn its a good day out, lots to do and see.
