got to work to find colleagues car in garage - nothing to unusual yet (T reg Rover 45 ? ? ) as he does like to tinker with em.
Later on his shift finishes and I can see him working on it with his crew mate.
As I go round side of the ambulance I see the drivers door is completely off and they are about to bray the door hinges back into position and also trying to reshape the wing where it meets the door hinge .
"are you going to tell him what happened?" says Rover owner.
So apparently this is what caused the damage.
Yesterday due to the snow - Rover owner goes out to move the car but finds he cant - 1st gear - careful clutch - wheelspin - reverse gear - careful clutch - wheelspin so after a few more attempts he leaves it ticking over - still in gear with the wheels spinning.. gets out and gets a shovel and proceeds to clear the snow from the drivers side front wheel... it begins to find grip -- so he goes to the passenger side and clears that .
So the car goes "ta much" and now sets off in reverse straight into the garage doors with the driver door still open..
The towbar takes out the garage door while a metal post takes the drivers door off..
brilliant - good job it was his own car and not his wifes
