Yup a Jaguar XJ13, although I think this is the one built by Jaguar. In fact I now a bloke who goes down to Coventry sometimes (his dad used to work there) and they actually fired up the XJ13 for him. 8)

 Bit naughty of me to sneak this on here. The Meccano model is just titled 4.35 Saloon Car. I would guess that the design was inspired by the 1930s Airline Saloon Cars produced by a number manufacturers including Bentley ,  Jaguar , Riley & Talbot. I liked the look of this model as it looked close to a 1936 Talbot Ten Saloon that I had for some time. I assembled the model a few years ago from my original 50's set after getting a fresh supply of Meccano nuts & bolts as the ones that came with the sets that my parents gave me in the 1950's got used as ammunition for my catapult and shot out of my bedroom window !
I then came up with a design for an open top tourer & also have a period van under construction  [-/

Come on Guys! Do you need a clue? There was an attempt to import these cars into the UK but they flopped terribly, due to very poor performance and bad build quality. Shame cos it was a sexy looker.
