Oh right... i see.... You thought i was going to chav it up.. because of the cold air feed. Well they are going to be internal, and matt black, running out of view and out of the way. They only serve to pump cool air into the engine bay

wow hold on there billy!!

before you get carried away ( and belive me i know on these cars) let me explain the cooling system on the bis.... its crap! well not exactlly it should be perfectly addiquate, but its flawed in some places, but the good news is that it can be fixed.

firstly fitting a cold air feed on the side using the existing vents wont do much as the air rushing by wont be sufficiant to chill the rad, and the rad fan sucks air from the drivers side, over the engine, and out of the passenger side so you dont wanna block it up!. what i'm doing on my bis is fitting a pacet competion fan. It will suck twice as much air, and i'm also wiring it in to a switch in the dash board too, and if you have the money, invest in a "thermostat transfer kit". this moves the thermostat to the top of the engine where it should be.

i love your enthusiasum for the bis model as it does come under fire alot for poor reliability and it does'nt get the tuning support of the air cooled, but if you sort the cooling out they are a very good little engine.

Thanks for the support.... Im in no doubt over who to come to if i have cooling problems with my BIS.

Which i was supposed to pick up on sunday. But Ebay let me down. And now its been taken off

Im stuck making plans for a car i may not get til next month

Oh well... life goes on...

Is it possible to reroute the rad? for example, put it in the boot?

or is the comp system the only way forward with it?

Still miffed i cant have the car ive been planning for months.. back to the drawing board

dont be down hearted bill I lost out 3 times before I got mine -even a cheap cabrio!!!! they come along often and they are worth it!

by boot you mean the front? yes it can be done, takes alot of time and effort ( you know water pipes and cutting a hole in the front etc ) i would stick to improving whats already there so the comp fan is a good upgrade and if you have the money, you could always get an electric water pump for it?

lol...it used to have a mudflap on it. It was ok when it was standard.. stopped the white bits at the back getting dirty.. til i rounded it off on corners

it has a mk1 PX rear mudguard on it now. That picture is the only one i had that would fit the avatar dimensions. If you could see it properly you'd see it has a simonini pipe in that pic... not what I'd call "racey"

its more of a street racer... than a racer... I obviously couldnt use a race scoot on the road.

Its fast enough for me though.

Dr 180, Si 24/24, ported casings, fly wheel machined to match clutch, sterling pipe.

Kept the standard crank though. I didnt want to buy a 3rd party race crank.

Im guessing you have a scoot then
