Just going back to your carpets G-man, when you had the new carpet cut out did you have to use heat to mould it around the shapes inside the car or did you just sort of press it into place?

no heat moulding or any difficult complicated mumbo jumbo, i just cut it out and placed it in. oh id do remember cutting the carpet in a few really difficult places with a scalpel, and then just gluing the pieces together with some super-duper glue. its childs play and turned out better than i imagined  [-/

thats about 160000miles! awesome! so there is hope for me yet was the engine overhauled or standard?

hi Gordon,

the only thing the old man told me he had done on my 126 was a new clutch, new shock absorbers, and loads of oil changes!!

he used to poor the old engine oil down into the panels and underneath teh car.

The other thing he taught me was to use Vasoline its just like waxoyl when it dries it dries hard over time, probs not good to get it on rubber though, i smear it over everything.

which pannels? and where do you access the panels?
