when you bin the plastic,make sure you go the extra mile and lose the corner pressings as well,they dont look so good with those showing behind the chrome bumpers.......just done all mine,just need some powder coated bumpers now.....

yeah its all going dave, i'm even cutting out the bumper mounting holes on the side and welding in a plate to smooth it out, i did of course think about replacing the wing ( which i have to do anyway ) with early air cooled type, but aparantly, they won't fit the bis models

no,they dont fit,the late a/cooled and bis have more of a flared wheel arch.......and wings are a pain to do,that little flitch or whatever its called panel is a nightmare.......but then im not a panel man :roll:

i cut those pressings out and tacked a patch in,not structural so i didnt spend to much time on them to be honest.

well the wing tucks up underneath them,and they are welded to the scuttle panel,god knows how to replace without cutting wing or removing the small panel,then you have the problem of re welding underneath the scuttle......proper body shop stuff :shock:

yes indeed,i had a sizable bit of corrosion on one front wing,i opted to cut it out,and mig in a bit of a spare wing....easier if a little time consuming.....oh i wish they bolted on !!...that could be the way for you,buy a new wing and use it as a repair panel.....
