Greetings all!
There is a late-80's 126P near me on ebay. I went to have a look at and it is virtually rust free (2 bits appearing under the bottom edge of the rear screen seal and a bleb on the offside rear lower quarter). It is a non-runner as it has dismantled brakes and a stripped thread on one of the exhaust manifold bolts/studs in the head- so no chance of getting an MOT without a full brake rebuild, cylinder head work and a rear number plate. Oh, and it is missing one wheel bolt per corner too!
Whilst I had noticed the mention on the V5C about the car being salvaged with the cost of repair being more than the value of the car, I hadn't appreciated that this was because it is actually a Cat-C write-off (checked for free on Autotrader!).
The bonnet is a replacement, in white (the car is Grigio Oslo 626). The engine cover has had a small impact- enough to leave some minor creases and break the number plate- this seems to be the damage that caused the Cat-C marker.
The guy selling listed it as £1200 originally, hoping to get back what he paid- £1000 plus £200 to cover things he had bought for the car. No-one bid, so it has now been re-listed at £1100 this week.
What do you chaps think is a fair price to offer?
