Brake hose recommendations
« on: September 02, 2016, 12:50:45 PM »
Hey, does anyone know a good brake hose to use with the seicento brake upgrade? The original ones seem a bit long?

Thinking of braided hoses but not sure if they are worth it

Anyway, would appreciate anyone's advice

Cheers!

I had a set of braided hoses made up as they didn't seem to be the right length off the shelf ( although other people may have ideas) and local hydraulics company should be able to make you a set
one resprayed and another arrives- double trouble BIS style!!

Interesting, do you remember what length and how much you paid?

when i did my disc brake conversion i was told to use punto brake hoses but they are way too long

so i searched until i found these, right thread and still used on models of fiat/alfa but about 2/3 the length of punto ones, they are just the right length

Joe would you recommend the seicento front brake conversion?

I just used braided ones for a 126? The banjo Union hangs down more than I would like on the caliper but at the right angle it clears the suspension lock to lock.

I would definitely recommend the conversion nathan, but don't buy the kits cause they are overpriced, buy the calipers from breakers yard and make sure they send you the banjo bolts and other fittings

Yeah I'm sure i can get 126 ones to fit, but are custom length ones much more expensive?

Yeah that's it Nathan, and brake pads of course
I don't think they fit under the original 12" wheels though so you'll also have to find some 13" et38 5j wheels and tyres. That's the priciest part.
