I am sure my 126BIS has lost a bit of bounce in the front.
And I think it may have dropped a bit too!
I have just done the king pins and it looks knock knee-d too!

I got some info off the web about camber etc

Anyone done wheel alignment and camber adjustments at home?

The wife flipped at the cost of the re conditioned king pins... she'll go mad if I say I need it to go for more work!

Check the front spring for cracks. You shouldn't need to mess with the camber unless you've really altered something. My 500 was knock kneed - the shock absorbers were worn out - an new set will cost about £20 all in on ebay.

we need a section on this site called; "How to tell your wife"

with bullet points of do's and donts  :lol:

im sure it wont be much mate, how many miles your car done, i thought if the car had driped at the front it meant the leaf suspension? in which case you find one being scrapped and unbolt and replace.

Otherwise;

give your wife some spending money, a cup of tea and sit her down then tell her, also i would advise to keep the car out of her sight she may be tempted to use nail varnbish remover on your paint work  :lol:  :lol:

money? this is a low cost problem!

Sagging is caused by the spring. damper problems are visable by pushing the car down and it taking more than 3 bounces to return to static. Springs can be found for 50 euros plus postage unless you find one second hand within the uk which is quite probable if someone is scrapping a 126. ask and yee shall get, parts are cheep when you find the right people, and you have found the right people! This is a very friendly club!!

Its true that the spring is normally to blame, but I swapped over the spring on my 500 and the sagging returned after a short ride. Replaced the shocks and it perked right up again. The olds shocks looked likely to have been the originals so were around 37 years old!
