My first ever fiat
« on: April 15, 2015, 10:15:50 PM »
Well bought this From eBay

Looks solid ish

Apparently local youth tried to nick it a while ago
Is it fixable???

All comments welcome good or bad

I'm going to try and get it running tomorrow after lunch

Expect a 101 questions to come

Does anybody know it?

So far I could see it needs

New seats
Carpet
Drivers door
Wiper (can you still get ones that fit)?
Possibly new steering colum

I'd like to keep standard engine but maybe make it with abit more go
Or
Woukd it be easier to just put the MPI lump in or tune existing engine?

Yes thats fixable  :good:

As for the engine then thats up to if you want to keep the standard one in or not.
We have a bis and to be fair the standard engine goes quite well for 700CC and it will happy sit at 60 mph on the bypass  :)

UPDATE!!!!

Got a few more pictures from today of the worst effected areas
Boot

Drivers door

Right also tried to get her started today
Hot wired her and there was just a clicking from starter motor. So I got the trusty hammer out wacked starter abit no different. At this point my dad turned up heard the clicking told me to slacken alt belt so I did no different.
He then told me to put it into gear I did rocked it and he confirmed its a ceased engine !!!

So he told me to oil down plugs and leave until tomorrow

Have I done everything right so far??

I would try turning it over or bumping it with the plugs out to find out if its seized or not as with it being a 700cc twin you will find it very hard to turn over by rocking it in gear.

Try to bump it in 2nd or even 3rd gear as it will turn over easier, if its not seized that is.

Well not much of an update but it's an update

Friend gave me these original cibie spots to donate to the fiat

Haven't seen any pictures with them fitted before so I can't exactly see how these will go

I'm going to get most parts in before I go forward with the refurb/recommission

So they won't be any real updates of work carried out just getting parts in first off
