Hi
Yes DVLA just need confirmation number from Customs, there is no charge or fees when declare as this is your own vehicle, so you not trading as business.
Sorry but can not remember about insurance as I have been sent my certificate with all paper work, but as i remember they not asked about this.
The worst scenario just get insurance for VIN chassis number (do not worry about number plates yet) most insurance companies accept this and give you 30days to get UK registration Number Plates (The registration process should not be longer than 14days)

If you already registered with customs, you need to start registration process now as there is limited time.

Thanks and good luck!

Hello All,

So my Maluch didnt pass MOT. Booo :-( The headlamps and speedometer did good but it was the suspention arm and fog light switch that let me down. I found some new ones on Polish ebay and currntly in the middle of discussion on shipping costs. All should be good. Its a fraction what I would pay in UK for it but hopefuly it will all come in time for next MOT

Wish me luck
A

 Oh that`s bad news :(.
What was wrong with the suspension arm? Is it corrosion? Is it the rear one? And are you sure it`s the fog light switch at fault?

Hi,

to be honest could have been worse. I bought it in Poland via just an ad and shipped it here without even seeing it, so to be fair I didnt know what condition it is in until I saw it. The switch is not at fault. Its just missing, so ordered one on ebay.
The arm is corroded. Rear left. But also shock absorber might be at risk when he will be fitting the arm. He warned me that the cap might break as its all corroded ? (I might be translating it to English wrongly) To be on the safe side I will get the shock absorber as well.

So after a mission of repairing the car for MOT retest it finnaly passed (in the process the doors fell off and had to be welded!) I send off all documents to DVLA and suprise suprise they rejected my application!!

On a basis that I didnt attached origional registration documents! WHICH I DID!

because my insurance company gave me only 2 weeks temporary insurance till I supply them with my new registration I will now have to pay again for extending it.I send all the documents recorded next day delivery which is now a wasted money as well. Upon ringning them they said to send all this back again to them, but I have no confidence that it will be processed.

Did they expected the documents to be in a English?....

Should I be translating it so they know what they are looking at?

Any of you had any issues with registration?

Thank you
Aga
