Well we did it!!
168 miles round trip, Norfolk to Harpenden and back, lots of friendly waves and thumbs up from other drivers, even trucks. We where the only 126 among literally hundreds of classics of all ages, and received a hell of a lot of interest.
Now some facts:-
168 miles in two days
used NO oil, in spite of the hot weather conditions
2.85 gallons of fuel
58.9 MPG
cruising speed 55 MPH (plus the bursts of up to 60 to overtake the odd slow truck)
2hrs each way, 4 hrs. total travelling time
WOW What a car!!
