Sort of. There are no bonafide tuning parts for the BIS but it's easily adaptable to some tuning parts like filters and exhausts just like any engine. It's a fallacy that they are a weak engine. It's the owners who let them down in some cases. There actually quite strong and can take quite a lot of abuse before they give up the ghost and it's the head gasket that usually goes - I never heard of one suffering a mechanical failure such as a snapped crank or a rod exiting the cylinder.
Tuning possibilities are limited but you can adapt a cone filter to the carb easily enough and I've seem custom exhaust been made for them. The old mechanical fuel pump could be binned for a nice electric one. Sorting the cooling system out with a thermostat relocation kit and an Uprated fan can aid reliability save hp's from being lost. I use the thermostat relocator and fan on mine as well as a lightened flywheel and it runs great
I've even seen a supercharged one

not sure how long it last though lol but it worked so can't be that weak
