Kingpin grease?
« on: July 03, 2014, 08:53:15 PM »
I recent happened to buy some NOS tutela 3 grease from a car show for a bargain £2. If your into your greases you'll know that castrol or comma multi purpose grease is around £4.50 for a small tub (about 500ml). This tutela stuff is about a third bigger so I thought for two quid I'll snap it up. It says on the tub that it's suitable for wheel bearings and tie rods and has a high melting point which is pretty much what a multi purpose grease should be good for however when I opened it it was an unusual dark blue colour and has a "Vasoline" kind of aroma about it?

Is this grease suitable for my kingpins? Tutela 3 is listed in the hand book as a grease for ball joints and bearing but nothing on kingpins? Has anyone else used tutela 3?
