SOLD 126 Bis for Sale 25000 miles
« on: March 20, 2014, 12:15:36 PM »
After a lot of umming and ahhing, and the yearning for a 500 I've decided to place my BIS up for sale.
It's done 25000 miles, has 12 months MOT, comes with the bumpers and a few spares.
Over all in good condition. Customary worn drivers seat bolster, and tiny rust bubble at base of screen.
CD player and retro bullet mirror (not sure why I fitted it there!)
List of recent work:
Lowered 2 inches
Speedline x19 alloys refurbed and polished
4 x new tyres
Full service to engine and brakes
New fuel lines
Head gasket and coolant flush
Head port and polish
Starts on the button and drives lovely.
£1250
Based in East Sussex, viewing and road tests very welcome

Oh and I have all the original parts if required, especially if you don't like the silly mirror placement  ;)

Hello, on the Engine Picture I have noticed you have placed what seems to look like a foam cylinder on the Air Filter intake tube, what exactly is that?
Cheers,
Dawid

Hi,
It's a foam air filter from a quad bike.
Fitted to release the true induction roar that only 30bhp can produce!  :P

Ah right, so would you say it is better than the standard air filter? And is there a specific quad model you have to get it from or....?

Cheers,
Dawid

In all honesty it probably makes bugger all difference in performance. Gives a nicer bark on full throttle though. Not sure what it's off, maybe a motocross bike or a quad.
Fitted purely for comedy value, as was the port and polish on the head.
It certainly pulls better than before, that may be due to the decoked head, or maybe it's all in the foam filter...lol.
Plus everyone that sees it laughs, so I class that as a success  ;D

The heat soak going into that air filter must be ridiculous! These engines get very hot and there isn't much air flow going on. I'd say it would make it perform worse

I've still got all the original air box should it need to be changed back.
Heat soaks not really an issue as you get quite good flow from below.

Maybe I should knock up a nimbus heat shield with some naca ducts just to be sure  ;D
