have engine in , but cant get the shafts to go on the ends , its as if they are to long ? any advice

If the drive shaft has been pushed as far as it can go into the gearbox, could it be the front anchorage position or shims positioning the hub further in. I had a similar where I had great difficulty due to minimal clearance to locate/keep the spring in and lining up the shaft and stub axle. Fantastic build hope you resolve your clearance issue.

ive  told to cut 10 mm of each side

 Owen, have you had the hubs apart? I think it`s possible to put them in the other way round, but one side is slightly longer than the other. I hope it makes sense.

not yet chris had a friend doing the wiren for me most of it now done , very bits left to do , rats nest of wiren mistakes from the past lol  cheers

well 2nd friend called to day , to see the 500 , i was telling him that i had no side lights in the headlights , he explained that it had them in the indicators , and if i fitted clear lences it would pass mot ,  so that sorted moved on to the horn  and master cyclinder wires , then coil wires , just the engine lid number plate light thats the car wired , just have some wires to tidy up , and all things work , its great to have a helping hand ,

we only do a few hours as many days as we can , now my boy is helping its good , as i had 2 heart attacks  :-X :$ :yikes :thumbup
