Wheel size
« on: November 06, 2013, 02:07:28 PM »
I have a standard 126 bis water cooled. Can some one please tell me how wide I can go with alloy wheels. Are 13 by 7j too wide. Also. Has any one done steel wheel banding for these cars.

Thanks David.

7j is definitely too wide. 5.5 is the normal maximum width, I reckon 6J or 6'5j may be possible with the exactly right offset and tyre size, but no one seems to have found out what these are yet.

On my yellow Bis, I've got 165 55 R13 tires at the rear. My front tires are slightly narrower. I'll revert with the tire spec. On my red Bis, it has Cinquecento Sporting alloys using 155 65 R13 tires.

With rolling and stretching you might get a seven under but it wond be easy- Ive just got some sixes under mine but I have found I will have to space them as they are touching the shocks- Im fairly running serious lowering all round and a front camber mod as well as rolled arches too-to run a seven safely though I think you'd need to start cutting flaring the arches so unless you really like metal work I'd find some smaller wheels...
one resprayed and another arrives- double trouble BIS style!!
