As ever it was great catching up with cars and faces old and new & although I guess that the main event is the hill climb on Sunday being at a world famous venue but the build up from Friday and social side is always a buzz even if it does leave you a little drained by Sunday .
The run there was a bit of a drag taking taking over 5 hours due to a number of Friday traffic hold ups plus a road closure due to a traffic accident but that did include a lunch stop as well. I am sure that there will be pics popping up here to fuel comments, hopefully none of me at the late night "sing-alonga-at-the-Skoda-tenta" event
I had reset my timing before leaving on Thursday but not driven the car till leaving on Friday. Realised it was a little too advanced but running ok. Made a light adjustment at RR which seemed to suit the engine quite well so the drive back in the sunshine was a real joy. Everything in the new engine seems to have settled in after about 400 miles and it was willing & flying . I was surprised at one point when giving it some wellie , I let it rev in third gear and ended up changing to top gear at 60 mph. That was on the gps sat nav
and on the flat.
I had heard of 50 shades of grey but I think Michael invented shade 51 going by his face on Sunday morning. I would call it Jura Grey
