Driving in New Zealand

Just back from a visit to a farm where we were invited to lunch. It was almost exactly a 200 Kms round trip south west from Rotorua. Left here at 9.30 am & returned at 4 pm. I kept the traffic stats for the journey in my head, it was not hard. On the way there, once out of town, we overtook one tractor pulling a trailer and one motor home. So in 100 Kms saw no other traffic in front or behind. On the return we were overtaken by three cars and I spotted two other vehicles in the far distance but we never caught up with them & that was it . At a guess I would say that there were no more 50 vehicles in the opposite direction in all

That's because they are all in bloody Aus doing scaffolding

Oh Rusty, sounds like those cars were just a dot on the horizon or if they were 126s a pin prick!

Not sure about 126s as the only one I have ever seen in NZ was stuck high up on a pole outside a car dealers somewhere south or east of here. But on that drive there were some great stretches of fast winding roads that would have really suited a 126
