My 126 Bis Restoration

This is my 126 bis that i got for £200. Its got 2 small bits of rust. One next to the right indicator where the bonnet closes and another bit at the bottom of the boot. It's done 25,000 miles and has a full service history. It's a non runner because it's been stood for 18 months. Battery was flat, so going to charge battery, clean the carb, put new fuel in and then see if it starts. If not will check plugs.

Hello i am struggling to upload any pictures as they are two large.Got car running with help of my Dad last night.The fuel pump is knackered.My Dad has bought a engine off ebay for £5 -which he is collecting tom which has one on so this maybe ok.Anyway it ran which is good.Have cleaned exterior of car and looks ok. The good thing is no rot!All panels are straight and good condition.A 2p piece rust spot under drivers side windscreen,rusty paint to osf panel when bonnet lifted up approx 3x3 cm and a 2x2cm square to bottom of tailgate(think drain has been blocked).will try and put more pictures on.thanks Jacob

Yes thats the one-in was on preloved and we bought without seeing it.Risky but chap sent us loads of photos before hand and took a risk for £200.Do youy know the car?

Got the car running but lots of creamy sludge and poor running! Fitted fuel pump from £5 engine I bought .My Dad tells me head Gasket gone-have thought about putting £5 engine in but do not know whats that like.Plan to sort original-looked and three types of material replacements available.Have looked and everyone saying copper best -why is this? Gutted in away as limited funds but am prepared to do myself.Good news -my Dad who has a Uno Turbo has a spare set of wheels of another one he has and have abarth inserts.I have put one on and they look great.plan is to paint gloss black perhaps with red tear drops ?
