Mud Flaps

Bit of a silly question but...

I've got some original Fiat 126 mudflaps and can't make up my mind whether to use them or not.

I've got 2, what's the done thing, do you just put them on the back wheels or should you have 4 for all?

I saw a picture of a Fiat Panda with 4 on and it looked a bit naff - like one of those poodles with a fur coat and booties.

I'm guessing they help protect the car and are not just for cosmetic value?

Any thoughts on pro's and con's most welcome.

I've seen a 126 with mud flaps and it just looks wrong, cars in general look silly with them on I think mudflaps should only be on trucks, the only car that makes mudflats look good is the 2cv I think because they are moulded to the shape of the wings

Good keeping dirt of the car but bad because if they don't get washed the mud will rot the mountings

If you are dead set on using them I think you would probably have to have one on each wheel

Thanks, Will, I think you're right...to be honest I try not to use my car in the wet anyway.

Shame really, as they are an original part and look really cool (off the car).

As I bought my car it had 3 of them (one was missing of rusty holder). It looked quite silly with them. So I cutout all of them.
No mud flaps makes you wash your car more often. Then it looks fantastic

Just put em on one side of the car, then people will be tricked into thinking you have two almost identical 126's, one with mudflaps, one without!
