.ok , so on the Panda head there are obvious differences, but the main one is the cooling area that requires, I guess, some alteration to the existing cowling, but I expect it`ll all become apparant on installation.
Recieved the 1.2mm copperplate yesterday, and off I beetled to the workshop to fabricate a thicker gasket. ........2 hours later I surprised myself on producing a near perfect gasket, and to take the reflective surface away I used the DA orbital with 320 grade to replicate the finish of the .5mm CU gasket. The actual fine work was done by drilling a series of holes within the circumference then removing the waste, finally under the magnifying lamp using the best bit of kit in the restoration world, and that is a Powerfile, (Makita), what a brilliant tool.
Any way head is now on once more with interference free rotation. Its a tad awkward to tighten down a cylinder head as it should be, as two of the outer nuts ,(on the opposite side to the cam) have to be left till last because inside the Panda inlet are two stud locations to tighten down before the Dell`orto manifold can be sited, once the inner nuts are torqued down then the outer nuts can be done .
Hey ho all good fun. Mike
