First Car :)
« on: August 03, 2012, 07:44:59 PM »
HI, i joined this forum yesterday & loving it, i've kind of done it the wrong way around introducing myself after posting a different topic  :P,
I've just bought my first ever car as i'm only 17 and i know nothing about fiat 126's or cars in general, Im glad i've found you guys i can see you know your stuff! I've attached a picture of my Fiat & you can see it in my profile picture too, im not sure what sort of 126 it is,  if you could give me a clue i would be grateful, or any tips or info you can tell me from seeing the car would be great as i am an absolute beginner but ready to learn, thanks guys!
George  ;D

It is a 126 Brown, colour Rosso scuro. so the seats and door cards are a creamy/white black fleck  ;D

Same as mine until I converted to Chrome bumpers, black vinyl interior (not good in hot weather)

Welcome to the club, I am sure you will love it, so so much better than the usual, Corsa, Ka, Twingo .....

As for mats, but some universal ones and cut them  ;) So much cheaper.

Hey guys thanks, I really like the chrome bumpers, i was thinking about getting a pair myself but the black plastic bumpers i have on the car at the moment go around to the side on the doors so it would look strange if i could change them to chrome also, && awesome tiny roof rack  ;D

Mine also had the door strips but they were removed and holes welded up.

Yours looks great as it is, original. (My roof rack is just a MG or MX5 boot rack, slightly modified).

Looks like a really solid car. I wish you the best with it. My first car gave me so many wonderful memories and I know yours will too.
I didn't do it!  ...unless it was good...  ...even then it's still debatable...

Snap! I brought Satsuma a year before I passed my test!  :D
It was quite frustrating just sitting in him and pretending to drive... but it gives you time to get things done on the car that need doing and this forum is full of very helpful 126's!
Everyone I know said I would regret buying him as a first car and that I was mad, but no regrets at all! Best cars by far!!!
Good luck with your test and welcome to the forum!

Hey there, nice 126 :)

I'm 18 and my 126 is my first car. I bought him April last year, passed my test in the July but didn't get it fixed until the January when I then got it insured :P I've swapped my plastic bumpers for chrome ones, but like you the black plastic goes along the doors too, so until I take him off the road for restoration they're staying! Doesn't look that odd tbh.

Believe me, once you do get on the roads in it you'll not want to stop! If the price of petrol wasn't an issue or I had loads of money I would honestly never be out of my 126 :D Enjoy!
