Hi from sunny Sussex
« on: July 23, 2012, 07:22:01 PM »
Hi
my name is Pete and I am a new 126bis owner. I live in Battle , East Sussex and play drums in a rockabilly band.
When I get time I like drag racing and have recently sold my 400hp mk1 V8 cortina  :(. Having said I would not race again I have given in but this time I am trying a 126  ;D ! It is fitted with a Honda CBR1000 engine and needs a good sorting out.
I have already done lot's of bits but plenty  more to do yet! I have a few questions already (posted on the tech section) so i hope you guy's may be able to help.
Cheers

Cool, Like the sound. Busy gig list, we only do a handful a year, link at the bottom of the post for captain black no stars. Loads, mostly quite bad, on you tube.
Have you heard Rattleshack (formerly Southern Discomfort) https://www.facebook.com/Rattleshack  we've put em on up here a few times, Might be worth giving em a shout and doing a gig swap or two. They do have some stuff on youtube, but they changed their name because several bands had the same name.

That's interesting to read. There are no mods to the shell other than the rear shocks. all standard mounting points have been used for the rear suspension and are far better made than standard with rose joints all round. the engine has been fitted in the existing space so hopefully won't be to much of a problem. I agree that it is certainly not a daily driver but i am having fun sorting it out.

Different car Dajwid, the one with the registration issues was red with an extra uncowled fan, and radiator and grill in the front. It also appeared to have a flux capacitor where the back seat wasn't.

No that is the car in question. The flux capacitor was the fuel tank. (gone now as  idid'nt fancy it inside with me!)

Hello and welcome to the forum. I remember that red Fiat 126. Is it actually road worthy. The engine's position looks quite different to the white 126 Bis currently on auction on ebay.

As David says, photos please!

Hi, yes it is road worthy, It has an mot but needs all the suspension  and steering setting up to make it right. The engine sits in a z cars frame in the same place as the fiat engine using all the factory mounting points but with the engine lid off as it's taller. will try to get some pics on soon.
