from what i know, these things were designed to give best effect at max revs/full throttle, so I would agree with Pete in getting a good standard tune on your carby. I know a bloke that re-routed all the cooling ducts on an aircooled to the carby and he claims he's getting 3.5 pounds boost  ;D so it might give some benefit.

btw, good job on getting that car running after your truck incident, that thing was rooted.

i went out and installed the "turdo booster" thing on my car today and just standing next to it could feel the extra power that it is making i shall post some pics later after i have recovered from my exertions, in order to fit it i had to modify the elbow on top of the carb as it sits too high, make a new accelerator/ carb linkage rod as the standard is too short and generally fettle the actual shape of the base as the fit is quite poor considering it has been designed for this car!  the actual unit ideally needs to be around 6mm shorter as it leaves no clearance between the filter neck/elbow and the engine bay roof!

Mick you should have just cut a hole above the carb, stuck the air filter in there, than it would have been properly supercharged and with your new turbo gadget, you could have given Smallcox run for his money :P
