Back from New Zealand now , great trip

Kept checking the forum when I could.
I asked what side because I have an off side factory reconditioned stub axle assembly going spare so wrong side for you.
I used a king pin kit from the 126fan.sk guys and it was the best ever. I did a blow by blow account of my experience on here last year. The replacement bushes were easy to tap in and they were so precise that no reaming was required at all.
If the grease nipple is drilled into the moving axle part of the assembly then that is unheard of in my experience and totaly useless. The locking pin secures the king pin into that section so that there is no movement there and the king pin then turns in the bushes. In normal circumstances with the single nipple set up at the top the grease is pumped in and can get to the outer spiral grooves that run down the outside of the pin and also via a horizontal hole that lines up with the nipple the grease can flow into the central hole that runs the length of the pin. Grease pumped into the centre hole can travel up, is sealed in by the top suspension bush and is then forced back down the outer grooves and bushes. Grease also travels down and is held in by the lower seal or plug (you hope as these are often faulty or have fallen out) then is forced back up the spiral grooves,
Well that's the theory anyway
