"Matuska" is the surname of the family that run the 126fansk set up and the World Muluch meet 
On matters neopolitan , as Santa Lucia is a noepolitan song, I just bought my first real Ferrari 
You can't drive it but you can strum it 
It is a late 19th century bowl back picolo mandolin and I just love the makers name "Fratelli Ferrari" Fabrica E Deposito Mandolini , Napoli.
Thought it was worth a chance at £10 in the charity shop

Wow what a bargain! I used to play the mandolin in a folk group. Just my old classical guitar now. I've recently started to sing in concert again too.

Marc , don't dis the old bowl back mando it could be worth a bob or two. I bought one for £1 that was lying on the floor of a charity shop in pieces . It had a makers label inside so put it on eBay and it sold for £80 to a guy in Bologna. I am always happy supplying the stuff to people who want it 
As for string things I have just completed a conversion on another old acoustic guitar that I bought for £1 on a charity stall. Interesting little thing as it had some crazy hippie paint job , busted machine heads, no strings and a hole punched in the side. I brought it back to life some years ago .
However the bridge was in danger of parting company with the top 
So it now has a new life as possibly the world's first Fiat Hub Cap Resonater Guitar 
It was a challenge but I am quite pleased how it turned out. It is still acoustic but I just bought an old humbucker set up on eBay so it could get more interesting.
I wanted to post a picture for your entertainment & amusement but my computers are screwed at the moment

I have just brought an 80's encore back to life, and it turned out to be a very nice acoustic guitar. The mandolin however was bought by my mum (who wouldn't know a decent instrument if she encountered it in any number of comedic ways) from a catalogue, for my dad, in the eighties. It is more cheese slicer than instrument. My dad has since got a nice mandolin, which is why why I now have a cheese slicer. I did, however, have a strum of Atilla the stockbrokers mandola a couple of years ago (very nice). I have three project guitars at the moment, need to sort them out.
