Hi all, Newbie from Birmingham.
« on: May 23, 2011, 07:28:08 PM »
Good Evening to you all,

My name is Steve and I have recently aquired an 86 Aircooled 126. It came into my possesion after a friend of mine needed rid, it had been sat in his garden for around 2 years so was covered in moss and all sorts of other tree nastys. Before that it had been sat up in a barn for more than a few years!

I myself am 25 with a great love for retro cars. Before aquiring the little Fiat I was restoring a 78 mini 1000 which ive had for around 5 years, this has now been put on hold(a little annoying as its so close to paint now) while I clean up the 126.

My plans are to geek up on all things 126 whilst fixing up and modifying bits and bobs along the way and of course to have many miles of fun in the little thing! I have noticed a restorations area which I will post up my progress so far. :)

Steve.

Welcome.

Pictures, What is the bodywork like? Everything else is easy to sort (normally) :$

Now you can sell the mini as you have a proper car :P

body work isnt to bad, ive had to put a few patches in here and there,

did have it running for a short while(managed to get down the side road and back) which killed it off, took the carb apart and cleaned it up, moved onto fuel pump and found it was full of crud and the diaphram has ripped so will be ordering a new one of them tomorrow. Also took the tank off(was hanging off when i got it anyway) cleaned the fuel lines out and cleaned it up. (although I will be putting new lines on for my own piece of mind)

Im ment to be selling the mini when ive finished it anyway but as with this, I just love it too much lol.
