hello, possible future 126 owner here
« on: April 29, 2011, 09:42:05 PM »
hello everybody

i am very interested in these wicked little cars, i had not heard of one untill i saw one recently at a gargage i take my car to and i love them :)

i currently drive a mazda rx7 fd, and use a 1.0 k11 micra has a run around, but would love to use a 126 instead of the micra, so....

i have just seen a 126 for sale, no tax,mot etc needs welding, all  of which is not a problem, i am concerned about the availability of parts for the 126 tho, are these easy to get hold, will other fiat parts fit etc and generally, what do you all think of them and any tips when going to buy one :)

thanks

NO part problems at all, really in fact more 'of the shelf tuning' parts than you would think.

sell the Mazda and but 2  ;D

(Buy an aircooled) (I will be attacked by the water-cooled boys)

Hello and welcome. Spare parts are plentiful for both aircooled and watercooled Bis versions. The aircooled versions are good and you can go bananas on upgrades etc., funds permitting. The Bis version (I better be careful - not wanting to start a war) in my view has a lot of design and mechanical improvements to the aircooled like a better alternator, clutch, synchromesh transmission, lighting is better (in built relay system), heating, hatchback layout, electronic washwipe, 13 inch tires (so ride is better), relatively quieter and faster, just to name a few. That said, the Bis is not without its problems.

 ;D :P

To be honest, if its solid body wise buy it. If you can make an airfix kit you can sort it out.
