Big hello from Liverpool.!
« on: March 18, 2011, 12:55:31 PM »

Hey all,
Just like to say hello and what a fantastic little community you have going on here!

I'm new to the quirky world of the Fiat 126 and I'm looking to pick one up for my summer ride/project. I'm currently sifting through the info on the forums, and searching for a nice 126..

I'd prefer something with a little more poke than the standard model, so I'm open to engine conversions but not to struck on a bike engine, bit noisy! (they do look like fun however..)

I wanted to ask if anyone tell me if these bike engine conversions are road legal? What are the requirements for a road legal bike engine conversion?

Thanks all... -Mcbonio

(-* To Forum, There are allot of 126's out there hope you find a good one, most bike engined cars are used for track days and IMO are not really suited to every day use Plus with all the new rules from the EU and VOSA could make it difficult to get the car on the road, A standard car with a few tasty mods would be the way to go It wouldn't be fast but you will enjoy the attention the cars get :)

Thanks Pete, i've been reading a lot of threads today, really nice bunch here.

In all honestly, I feel the novelty of bike engine would wear off after a while, and the noise would be very annoying...I know myself well, if I had that kind of power I would loose my licence within the month.. already have 6 gold stars on it..!

I'm more interested in getting a 600 or 700 block and tuning it up, or fitting a bigger engine like an 850.

How are people widening their arches on their cars? Custom made body work, or is there a kit avaliable from another fiat model?
