« on: February 13, 2011, 10:35:17 PM »
Hi all,
offered here first and i know not as cheap as you'd all like but i need to raise a small fortune to finally finish my 11 year restoration of another car  :o
if it helps anyone i can give members 4 weeks to find funds(after a deposit) but will advertise elsewhere in a week or so's time.
you can contact me for further pics,i need to put new tyres on (still got the originals on!!) will renew brakes, give her a service and get mot done asap. For those that don't know the car here's a brief summary:

very original 1975 model
mint interior
8200 miles from new! :)
total waxoyl from new
interesting history of p'work from previous owner (handwritten log)
fantastic bodywork/chrome

serious enquiries please, now looking for £3400, i don't feel thats a huge figure for such an original and rare car,our cars are increasing in value so will be a great investment.
call or mail anytime,

I can understand your point completely. Sometimes it`s just the way it goes.
I saw few pics of you car on the internet before, but I thought it was just a myth :)
It is a real gem. The only question is. Would you drive it, or just put it in a heated garage and cover it up with ten blankets?

hehe! maybe 12 blankets!! i think it needs to be trundling around as a summer driver..it won't do it a lot of good to sit idle..i went to a couple of local shows and it was the only one and drew a lot of interest,oh and pointing/smiling from people when i was on route!  8)

Is the paint all original? Do you know if the reg is transferable too?

Good luck with the sale. Hope it gets how much it should.

thanks for your kind comments guys! yes the paints original, don't know about the reg, i guess so but i'll not split it! i think all you guys should chip in and keep it as a shared 'pool car' for the club and all own a little bit of it!  ;D

If i could convince my boss to keep it in his heated warehouse, i'd buy it tomorrow. But i've been there before. Hopefully we are building an extra unit next door, so we'll have some more space, so you never know! :D

Regarding those wheels if I may chip in. They are the standard wheels as fitted to the early 594 ccs 126 range. They shared the same centre section & design as the Fiat 500R except that on the 500R they were 3.5 x 12 rims and on the 126 they were 4.0 x 12 rims to take the wider tyre. I think that they are the best of all the standard wheel rim designs and to my knowledge there were 3 variations on the 500 and 3 on the 126 including the Bis. I believe that some "special" standard rims were made for the Abarth cars that were something like 5.0 x 12  [-/

Is there any rust at all? Wheel Arches, sills etc? I'm a bit suspicious if the paint is original! Never seen one in that colour before either.

draigflag..its original colour and paint! no rust anywhere, not even a bubble as far as i have seen, (i'll check it over again obviously on ramps on mot day!) i have the original p'work from being bought and the owner had paid extra for full waxoyl treatment and i think he had kept having it done over the years so the floorpan is sound with nice thick layer and remember its only done 8k miles!... the first owner kept a log of every thing he did/changed/when he started it etc for years  :)
