Reckon you can help a country(wo)man in need? Not sure if any of you know where to get 850 bits from but I'm sure you have contacts who know stuff about classic Fiats

Hi there. I'm in New Zealand with some contacts in the NZ Fiat world. The poor old 850, great as it was, is almost a thing of the past. What sort of parts are you after?

I've exhausted all my contacts............... seems Allan is right, they're pretty much a thing of the past. Your best bet would be one of the fiat car clubs in oz. I remember one was taking orders for filling a container shipped from Europe, cant remember their name......Torino imports i think.

Either that or Oz ebay unfortunately for all of us here in Oz.

There was a complete pretty solid looking Fiat 850 Sport Coupe in the Horopito Car Wreckers Yard , North Island , NZ a couple of years back. I hope to be paying another visit to this awesome place in April

Hi,

I thought i'd post in here as the title is suitable.
I'm moving back to Australia mid next month and thought i'd offer some help. If someone needs some parts (small parts and bits and bobs) then i might be able to fit some into my luggage then upon my arrival in Melbourne post them off locally. All my stuff (incl. 126 spare parts) have been packed into boxes and will be sent off with time by my parents from here.
I'll be taking as many things as possible so i'll need to know in advance (that way i can modify my packing).
If for some reason i won't be able to take any spare parts then i'll let everyone know before my departure (and not spoil your fun )

mmm I am keen what did you have in mind to bring over ?

It's up to you, just something within the limits of a suitcase (size and weight), e.g. gaskets,seals,bushings. My box of parts will be sent over later (when i have a proper place to stay that has a garage...) I will be taking as many clothes as i can so if i know in advance that there'll be other stuff then i'll make space for it.

Congratulations on choosing to become an Aussie again (and even better- a Melburnian!)
When are you coming? I'm happy to introduce you to the local Fiat club and you are welcome to come along to some events.
You will have to remember to translate from english into oztralian though- just in case you have forgotten, the Australian translation for the word 126 is "Niki"!
(for others planning to visit Australia and trying this don't be disheartened if you get a blank look when trying out your new word- most aussies think there are only two words for 'car' which are "Ford" and "Holden")

Thank you for your kind words. I am originally a Melburnian but it's been a good few years since i was last there... If all goes well i'll be leaving mid next month. Since living in Europe my knowledge of cars has broadened so i at least know that other cars exist apart from Holden and Ford
