Greetings from Bulgaria!
« on: February 10, 2011, 11:53:52 AM »
Hi everybody! :D

"Long" ago I'm on your forum reading and writhing a bit without any presentation,
well... not polite , so here we are :P my 126p and me. :)

The little animal was born in 1981(my contemporary) in Bielsko-Biała. We have it in family since 1994,
but in 2000 it entered a new revival era which became a "Abarthization", so till now, going step ahead,
waiting again good times...

It's probably a 650K model (except the FL dashboard), but I can't be sure. It had 2 owners before,
so it suffered kind of upgrades.

The color - Rosso Fiorano (Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano):

Mille Miglia Maifrini 5,5J13 4x98mm since 1972 (the year 126 was born).
Tires 165/55R13 in future. Demo painting ;D Will be polished as well.

The Abarth future:

Dellorto DHLA 40 vs. "tragedy"!? ::)

288* Swiatek 385 camshaft

Some parts from Homeland (the first one)

Difference between 126 and Panda 30 heads:

Kind of unmeant replica of Autobianchi A112 Abarth instrumentation ;)
Who needs radio in a racing car? :P The gauges are soviet license of Veglia,
used in Lada (VAZ 2103/2106/2121...)

I have the engine put together on level EVO1 - with the standard crankshaft and pistons. It needs only carb adjustment (proper jets) and modified original exhaust. It will gain not more than 35hp.

Well, this is it in brief. :)

Hello and welcome. The alloy wheels are gorgeous. It will transform the look of the car. I like the alloys engine bits and the gauges are a nice upgrade. But how do connect the gauges?

Hi! Thank you for the nice welcoming!

Connecting the gauges is quite easy, using the Lada senders.

The voltmeter - piece of cake. It needs a + when the contact is on.

Thermometer in my case is also cool, cos the Lada's sender fits perfectly in the sump plug (on the pic it not turned to the end). It can be done, welding a threaded plug on the original sump. This is not the perfect place to measure (in my modest opinion), so I'll move the sender to the oil cooler and filter circuit before the oil gets back to the engine (when I'll have that upgrade).

To run the pressure gauge it's needed a Lada's sender:

The problem is that the size is 2mm bigger than the engine block plug, so it needs an adapter. The plug is the one that is used to connect the the oil line coming out of the cooler.

The same game you can play with any other gauges, even found on the scrap yard :)

Kind regards!!! :D

Welcome , cool stuff you've got going there (those Lada gauges will suit the 126 dashboard)  [-/
I noticed that the timing chain cover is held with self locking nuts and studs rather than with the bolts. Is this setup that much better?

500 engines use studs and nuts.

That looks to be 600 or 650 though, by the dizzy clamp- not a 500 clamp.

Maybe they just converted to studs or its an early 600 engine still using studs.
