Hello all, also help needed

Hello to all here at the 126 owners club forum.

Friday I brought my wife and I our first 126 bis, and having driven only a few mile this it seem to be a great little car. However like most classic cars it has it’s small outstanding jobs, which haven’t been tackled by the previous owner, one of which being the offside rear brake light, that quite rightly got us pulled over today. I’ve tried lamp replacement during which I had the light assembly apart and corrosion seems to have taken hold so even bulb replacement doesn’t work in this instance. So I would like a new rear light or even a pair, can these be purchased through a Fiat dealer or do I need more specialised parts suppler for 126 parts or is there a repair part? Any help would be great received.

Thanks for the warm welcome to the forum. I’ve purchased a backlight and hopefully this will work if not it will be an electrical fault I expect. I been looking through some of the posts here and noticed that the previous owner Steve, posted several photos of the white 126 with Britax sunroof. I will upload photos when I take them.

I am interested and have always been interested in classic cars and in the main I’ve owned aircooled VW’s since the early 1980s and recently a Porsche 356. However this is my first Fiat, I’m still trying to get my head around the little car and finding parts suppliers etc. It’s my intention to use the car for local journeys it’ll be safer than cycling and with the added advantage of being able to park it anywhere it all makes for a practical future classic.

Be careful with the screws when you change the lights the little buggers break (plastic heads).
