Greetings from Portugal!
« on: December 21, 2010, 06:45:29 AM »
Hi all,

My name is Dominique, i'm 21, Law student from Coimbra, Portugal and  I the lucky owner of a 1978's fiat 126 :)

So why do I have this car and why I love it so much?

As a child, when I lived in Switzerland, my dad decided to recover a fiat 126 and he used to take me all the weekends in Iveco's workshop (where he used to work). I was able to see that amazing car rise from the ashes and and become all new and shiny again. At that time I already loved that car because it was so small and funny!

Unfortunatly my dad died when I was 11 and I've started to see in that car as book full of memories, reminding me all the great time I had with him. So that's why I love this car, not just because it is an amazing piece of art, but because it was a bond between me and my father, and i'm gonna keep it for ever!

Here it is, hope you like it! (the picture is a bit crappy because it was taken from a cellphone, later i'll send more and better)

Hello and welcome to the forum. Lovely car! I am sort of in a similar boat as your are having grown up with a Fiat 600D and laterly a 500. My father sold the 500 but kept the 600D up until 2004. All the members of our family including myself learned to drive in the 600D as well.
