Lightweight stuff
« on: August 10, 2010, 09:25:22 AM »
Hello

This is a feeler to gauge interest.

Who is interested in GRP boots and bonnets and maybe even doors? and Poly window kits?

Carbon/kevlar could be a goer to but not for windows ;)

Pricing will not be silly and all will be UK made.

Hiya

Lexan/poly window kits utilising the standard window rubbers can be made to order with immediate effect. I am currently looking for supplier that will allow me to make some money and provide kits that don't break the piggy bank.

The GRP stuff will have to wait until i get a few orders and then I can get a batch made to cover the cost of the moulds.

I may have to ask for 50% payment at the time of order to begin with.

50% deposit shouldnt be a problem ;) Newbury isn't too far away so could always pop-up and collect.

I'm sure there will be more interest once a few have een made [-/

Doesn't seem to be much interest and typical of british industry, that is doing oh so well for itself, none of the grp moulders have replied. Having dealt with 1 or 2 chinese operations they put us to shame. You get immediate replies, email updates with process pics(including containers being loaded!) and a xmas card.

I think i may have a go at making a mould myself but that wont be for a while. Lost hours and materials is going to be approx 1k for a couple of units. Maybe there would be more interest then if I had pics of finished bonnets and boots.

Can't find any from the continent either. They are out there though as the euro hillclimbers use alot of 126's with bike power.

Soz.
