I have a bis bootlid looking for a new home. It's red and has the window in place, but I'm will to split if I can avoid it going to the tip. No free postage though!!

Hello. Okay, you are giving it away but does the bootlid/hatch have any surface rust?

Sorry to be picky when it is a freebie. I have another 126 Bis (1990) which I am thinking of restoring rather than scrapping it. It has got a lot of new parts and has only done 300 miles before its MoT expired in November 2009. The estimated cost to restore it is too much. There is rust underneath the hatch but I was thinking perhaps of buying a good condition hatch to lessen the cost of the restoration. The front panel has a lot of rust and needs welding but I managed to buy a front panel from ebay for just £5. So it is coming together slowly but surely.
