Need help with 2 radio wires
« on: May 23, 2010, 09:50:54 AM »
Hi
I wanted to connect the radio and found "+" (permanent- green red), "-" black , and two yellow and yellow red wires connected together, there is no voltage in them. T tested with multimeter and they act like "-" , just wondering maybe they aren`t original cables ?

It's probably a switched live, only comes on with the ignition to stop the radio draining the battery.

Can you trace the leads back? perhaps it's the speakers earth connections?

Turn on the side lights and you should get 12volts, It's the illumination wire for the Radio.

according to the workshop diagram
Red+Green is the +
Black is the - (is that the black cable snipped off in the background of your photo?)
