I  just got the headlight protectors from 126gfan.sk. Pete126 is correct, it does offer protection to the boot and headlamp. Tried it on one headlight. It clipped on quite nicely to the headlight. It closely fit the headlight and the rubber mask snuggly fit the headlight area completely. So, it will offer good protection i.e. stop dirt and water coming into the boot and the headlamps being soaked with water. I highly recommend a "buy" on this item.

Unfortunately, the headlight protectors I bought are in fact not a perfect fit and is different to the picture I posted which I think was the original design.

Thats ussual problem with aftermarket once. If you want I can have a look in poland for original pair - done by stomil (the same company which makes tyres). They are cheap like a bottle of water and fits perfect and tight.

I did the same as Amateb8, but they havent arrived yet (getting a little concerned).

Thats a shame that they dont fit well Amateb8, frustrating when your chasing a certain look and you dont get it.

But, if they look like the ones on Pete126' car then that aint so bad.

There appears to be many variants of these out there. There is even one being auctioned in the Italian ebay (also a different design but much better looking). Unfortunately, the one I recently acquired was no were near Pete126's headlight protector look and finish. The one I received was much wider on one side and is almost flat (as a cardboard) in appearance i.e. it did not follow the contour of the headlight surround and space. It needed reshaping but any attempt to reshape the rubber frame would immediately show. There is also a wire underneath the frames that keep it rectangular in shape, so quite restricted if you opt to reshape the rubber frames.

::) They dont stop the rust but they are designed to protect area under the bonnet from water , dust and funny noise.
I never had the time to get one of those. Allways keep old RHD lenses because you an not buy new RHD headlamps and you can try cut off RHD lenses and adapt to new LHD headlamps.  ;D

Did some researches already. Will have more details tomorrow. These are cheap but as you need STOMIL once they are rare these days.
