Badge Resto
« on: February 09, 2010, 07:01:04 PM »
Bought this badge off Ebay for 99p and have restored it for the front of our Bis..

Before

After

Only thing is I used the airfix model paint and when you touch it, it leaves a mark :(  Can you get clear coat in matt?

Still got to paint the edges!

Nice. Nice and shiny.
I'll have to do the same on mine which has gone matt. I've thought of using silver spray paint and spraying a thin layer of it onto a sheet of paper placed on a hard smooth surface. Then i'd place the badge onto it where the edge and the letters would get painted and the rest wouldn't.
What type of paint sticks to plastic well?

Plasi cote paint, I used the chrome effect paint on my rear 500 number plate light worked ok.  Need to recoat as it has dulled down to a mat silver.  The chrome effect is quite difficult to apply.  B&Q have a selection of colours, you can also get undercoat for plastic bumpers which allows you to overcoat with regular car paints.

Thanks Amateb8! The wheels I got off Ebay a few years ago.  They are originally from a Skoda but not sure what model, looking on the back there is a stamp that says RONAL!
