126's never had them but I have often considered it was going to use a fiat uno motor though and keep it in the family- keep us posted I would be interested to see how it turns out...
one resprayed and another arrives- double trouble BIS style!!

yeah, i thought about using a rear motor, but then only one speed.  I also attempted to alter the length of the linkages to achieve the 180 sweep with no luck, although that is the way they do it on the aftermarket kits, just never found one for a 126! there must be an equation to work this out... anyway yeah found a 3 speed motor off this lotus, will post my findings soon...

I looked at this also and came across this on ebay

Item no "Z220526473999"

Apparently for a single wiper conversion for a Mk2 punto.

It has a few pics on the pulley mechanism that might help you guys out.

i've resigned this mod to one of the last and might not be happening.

The older shape pandas are all single wipe and connect with linkages. on the uno the wiper arms connect direct to the motor so you would have to fabricate a mounting bracket. maybe someone who owns a panda can throw some light on the subject ;) or ring round the local scrappers and if you can find either have a look.

that uno setup sounds like what i have been searching for with just a straight forward mount onto the motor! granted you have to make a bracket but that's a simple job! gonna percevere with the lotus motor for now as it owes me money and is otherwise useless  :D

the lotus motor turns this weird long oversized thread/screw/linkage thing which in turn, turns the wiper. its straight forward enough and i have the advantage that i can cut the screw piece down to what ever size that will fit under the bonnet without any complications as its just a rotary motion.  in theory anyway... never seen anything like it before, will post my findings. plus will still have to fabricate brackets for the motor and the wiper base

Keep us updated on your progress [-/ After thinking about the Mod the cheapest way would be to move one of the standard spindles to the centre of the scuttle panel, extend the long arm, then play about with the lengh of the idler arm bolted to the centre spindle on the motor, which would need extending to get the best swipe of the screen.

would a single wiper cover enough of the screen to make it legal as the windscreen on a 126 isnt very deep ?  try using a piece of string to simulate the bigger wipers arc and have a look as after all if it leaves half the water/crud etc on the screen it isnt really worth while. i always wanted porsche style wipers on my old golf.

ive started to put a single wiper on my bis ive used the rear motor and arm assembly and just lengthened and shortened the appropriot arms to achieve the 180 swing so far so good works a treat might have to look into a bigger wiper tho as i dont think it will cover the windscreen enough but it looks good  ;D
