Hunt for wheels over
« on: December 08, 2009, 02:04:33 AM »
Hi all,

After an extensive search for wheels i"ve finally found a set of Simmons B45 15 x 7s. After getting some info from retrowheels i found out that they ony made 15 sets of B45's to suit fiat stud pattern so they would be quite rare. They cost me $1000.00 but the bloke I bought them from had them fully refurbished at a cost of $690.00. The beauty of these wheels is that you can flip the centre around (ie: inner rim on outside & vice versa) to give a huge negative offset. I need a huge negative offset as i've cut the front wheel tubs out for better pedal positioning using a suzuki swift gti pedal box. Judging by the current offset, the wheels should stick out from the arches by about 75-80mm. Perfect for the 5 inch flares i'm using. The picture below is the style i have - what do you think??

Those will look fantastic, even as the whirring blurr they'll probably be most of the time.  What colour are the centres?

Thanks ,

The centres are polished and I plan to paint the car black. The matt black 126Bis on this forum looks tough so I'm going that way.

By the way, was reading a few of your posts and it seems like your in the need for 126 parts regularly. If you need anything, give me a shout, I may have it. I'm sure the postage costs would be a hell of a lot cheaper from Sydney than the UK!!

Cheers GSXR126

They finally arrived this morning. Have to say they look better than the photos i bought from and my photo still doesnt do them justice. Very few pit marks and and scratches for a 25 year old set of wheels. The dissappointing thing is that the inner rims are not polished. The simmons i have on my EK Holden and cortina are. Oh well, looks like about a week on the sandpaper and polish.

Hi all,

Merry Christmas and HNY to you all, hope you had a safe and cheery one.

Not much done to the niki over the last few weeks, but i managed to trial fit my wheels on my spare niki with amazing results. i wouldnt have thought a 15x7 rim would fit on a standard niki but they fit perfectly. The outer rim sticks out by 15mm on the front and 30mm on the rear, but this niki has standard camber so they should fit under the guards on the project niki.

Hey Stuey,

Thanks for the comments. This is actually my spare niki, all standard. My project niki is in a million bits atm preparing for paint. I do have a complete photo album of the build that i will post once the car is finished.

I'm having trouble trying to find tyres for a decent price. Tyre shops are quoting me $215.00 for a 195/45/15. I can get tyres cheaper o/s including freight - doesnt make sense. I wont pay for some salesmans commission when he's just sitting at a desk banging buttons on a calculator. Pissing me off but what do you do.

Cheers
Dan

Hi, I got them from ebay - just type in "universal fender flares" and search international listings. Be careful though, 126's need a very short length flare or they will stick out past the wheel arch. These are 26" across but i think 22"-24" would suit the 126 better.

Cheers
