Hello from Ireland!
« on: December 04, 2009, 11:29:00 AM »
I have a 1977(i think) fiat 126 with a 594cc engine. I don't know a huge amount about the car. Its been in my family since new first owned by my grandmother and then my cousin. When my cousin owned it a motorcycle crashed into the side and did a bit of damage and its been sitting in a garage since then. That was at least 10 years ago. Myself and my dad were hoping to fix it up but he died back in march so now I'm gonna try take this baby on... It was the first car I ever drove and I never forgot how good it felt. Ill try take a few pics over the weekend and hopefully ill be able to get some advice as I'm a bit of a novice. Not even sure which haynes to order since there seems to be quite a selection!

Hi & welcome to the Forum. Quite a rare car you have. It's a great Forum & the people on here are most helpful with plenty of advice to offer. If you were to make a donation & subscribe you could then download a manual for your car on here, there is one that covers the 600 & 650 air cooled. Good luck & keep us posted with your progress & pictures of the car.

Good luck with your project & if you get it up & running I am sure that you will not regret it . The official end date for the 594 ccs motor was 1976 but your one could have been registered later. Subscribing to the club to get membership is a good idea as it will help you get very cheap classic car insurance as well as the online manual. I do like to have a hard copy of the haynes manual close to hand & the early one, 73 to 76 cars, often sell for 99p plus postage on eBay  [-/

You've fallen on your feet finding this forum, everyone's really helpful and with a common interest of keeping these cars going. :)
I've not been here long myself but I've had plenty help and advice. If you let us have the chassis number we should be able to date the car for you. Is there not an Irish DVLA web resource for info?
