Drivers door or pair of doors
« on: October 20, 2009, 06:55:51 PM »
I'm looking for a drivers doors (or a pair) to repair the rust at the bottom of mine. Anything will do as long as it doesn't need welding.

Thanks

Michael

It's 126 doors I'm after, I bought Dom's 126 and the bottom of the drivers door skin is pretty rotton. I'll fabricate it if I have to, but I'd prefer a short cut!!

Cheers

:D Hey Michael , prevarication about your situation may not need a fabrication  ::)
If your intention is restoration , substitution may be a solution  [-/

I like the prose, nicely strung together!!
How much are you wanting for the doors (Not sure if I need one or both yet, I'll have a look in the morning) Would I be able to come round on Sunday with some cash?
I'm also interested to see the rest of the 795 engine of yours!
If thats ok PM me your address or phone number and I'll arrange a time.
Thanks

Michael,

When did you get into 126's thought you were a 500 man! I remember the first 126 you had, driving in the car parks at the 500 Scottish meets soooooo Long ago  My fondest memory of that time I think is when the tow rope snaped and the 126 with your father ws driving  passed me on the A75 dual carriageway on the road to my house to replace the gearbox do you remember?  I think your sister hit an island and damaged the gearbox anyway we replaced it in a couple of hours and the rest is history.  How are you I hope all is well and the move to the new house is all as you had hoped for.

Ralph Angela and the boys.

ps Fraser, my youngest has a 126 which he hopes to modify see our post although things have slowed down, disk brakes fitted and ALFA 75 seats fitted still to cut roof and fit new steel sunroof.

I think it would be impossible to fogret that towing incident! It was hilarious!!
I wasn't expecting to get another 126, but it seemed like to good an oppertunity to miss, especially as it's an early one. I fancy re-spraying this one myself this time.
I've been watching the resto of the 126, looking good. I'm up in Glasgow next month, I'll give you a phone next week, It'll be good to pay you a visit

Hi Michael,

I have still not been ablke to find the engine mounting kit, but I have managed to get this afternoon off work in order to prepare the 500 for it's MOT tomorrow. I'll be digging in the garage so hopefully will find it there.

Souds good.

I had a look yesterday and once again i couldn't find it. It must be in the garage somewhere as I definitely would't have thrown it out or sold it. I found a spring, but i think it is for the old 500 type fitting.

I guess having a messy garage is to be expected when your family home has 4 males in it, with 5 cars, and 6 Vespas!

i'll keep digging.
