Fitted sports exhaust and more chassis painting

Ordered from Italy, turned up very prompt to, used motorcycle "can" brackets as supports!!

Now all the chassis is fully painted next job, wheels and suspension!!

My god!! getting this steering wheel to fit and make the horn work!!!
Bolts too short.....bolts too long......TWO wires for the horn.....TWO....still didn't work........bad earth!!  DOUH !!

not trying to scare you here but i would suggest using a more manly set of exhaust brackets as i have had experience of obtaining fissures in the down pipes due to flexing at the brackets i have had around four different types of exhaust on my car and all seem to end up with some sort of cracking due to bracket flexing, failure the standard ones even fall apart so i have taken to welding extra metal on them to beef them up.

Do the standard ones go round an after market sports exhaust though?

Guy before welded on some sills which look ok but never blended them in very well to the original arches so i have done one side that im quite pleased with.

Ddi you use fibre glass or sheet metal for those?

I used glass resin and a small skim of easy sand filler very pleased with the results.

I also got my wheels back this week from powder coating, not to pleased as chipped very easily on the journey home so gone back. Wont be recommending Impact Coatings in colchester to any of you guys, stay away unless they make a big effort to sort it second time around?!

Finally made a start on the little ht rod 126!!
New shocks all round, cut-down springs on the rear and and reverese eyed front leaf spring with one leaf removed aswell!!

Hi guys,

Just to recap on this little project of mine,
 
1. All arches have been smoothed into a better line now.
2. The roof has been lined up to have one fabricated.
3. Option 1 & 2 for the roof fell through so option 3 is being called into effect (Brother-in-law)
4. T-bars designed and in the hands of local engineering firm.
5. F****** cool door mirrors have been ordered from USA.
6. Many ideas have changed!!

Painted bay satin black fitted all black wiring covers, new leads, dissy cap, stainless coil cover and cleaned off alot of white over spray from other parts.

I'm thinking of doing the bay in black too, was always wondering how it would look like so I'm glad you posted a picture. Looks great.

What pricing is there for the powdercoating of the wheels?

I payed £30 per wheel to have the wheels powder coated.
