Hello from Essex
« on: August 11, 2009, 01:53:54 PM »
Hi

have already posted a few questions, but thought it was rude not to introduce myself!
my name is Alex and i recently bought my fiance a 1990 126 Bis,
got a real bargain at 200quid and am in the process of giving it a major engine overhaul,
the bodywork is immaculate which was a surprise, i bought the car blind so was unsure of what i was getting.

anyway the car is apparently called 'cherry bomb' because she is red  :o :o
i'll put some pictures up on here as well of some of the work i have undertaken, the other half is currently fitting a new bright red roof lining into her, while i get the great job of changing the master cylinder.

Cheers
Alex

No it came with a fail sheet, indicating the master cylinder was not functioning, but has been fun giving her a engine overhaul, i used to have a mini and blew the head gasket on that, was so fun to skim the head and bore the ports out, i'm hoping the head stays firmly shut on the fiat,

Hi Alex and welcome. I too was amazed at the condition of the bodywork on my late model aircooled it appeared to have been heavily waxoiled from new and I have seen others the same so was wondering if this was factory spec or perhaps dealer option when new, anybody?
